Vitrine Gallery
Located in our entrance, our vitrines are the first glimpse visitors get of the Baltimore Jewelry Center. These vitrines serve as exhibition space, showcasing the breadth of contemporary jewelry and metalsmithing happening in our community. These curated displays feature work from our students, instructors, and invited artists, highlighting creative practices within our community. From student showcases to invitational exhibitions and open calls, the vitrines provide an ever-evolving platform for exploration, experimentation, and creative dialogue.
Reflecting on Ten Years of Exhibitions
December 6, 2024 - May 2, 2025
In 2024 the BJC is celebrating our tenth anniversary! As part of our year long celebration we'll be undertaking a number of unique projects focused on exploring the concepts of memory, institutional knowledge, and archiving. Reflecting on Ten Years of Exhibitions is one of these projects, an installation in our hallway and vitrine gallery looking back on the first 10 years of our exhibitions program. For this show we've invited a select group of artists from previous exhibitions to re-exhibit their pieces to help showcase the depth and breadth of our exhibitions program. The physical jewelry objects in this exhibition will be shown alongside a series of images, including two large-scale collages of images from all of the BJC's past exhibitions and an installation of photographs by Jill Fannon, a local artist and photographer who's documented our gallery shows for the last 6 years.
This exhibition features the works of:
Jen Moore, Jeffrey Clancy, Isabelle Busnel, Jina Seo, Nathalie Maiello, Zachery Lechtenberg, Helmi Lindblom, Rachel Shimpock, Sarah Parker, Kerianne Quick, Motoko Furuhashi, Gina Denton, Valerie James, Lynn Batchelder, Melanie Bilenker, Sunyoung Cheong, Joshua Kosker, James Betts, Raissa Bump, Gemma Hollister, Nils Hint
