Important Covid-19 Related Reminders: Please read before your arrival.
The Baltimore Jewelry Center is open for socially distanced classes, bench rental, and gallery visits. We are taking the appropriate precautions to ensure that the studio remains clean, and to limit exposure to COVID-19. We are eager to have you join us in the studio, but are asking anyone who joins us in the space to please follow these precautions/protocols:
Proof of vaccination is required to work or take classes in the BJC studio. This policy applies to staff, students, renters, and community members. Community members need to provide the BJC with a copy of their vaccination card (including booster once eligible). Limited exceptions will be made for medical or religious reasons.

Renters should make an appointment online via the scheduling app located on this page directly below these reminders, before arriving at the studio. Students currently enrolled in classes are accounted for in the available rental, and do not need to register for rental during their class time. Renters not coming to the studio for class must register for studio time prior to their arrival. If you do not register prior to your arrival and bench rental is at capacity, you may be turned away.
Masking is optional in all spaces of the BJC studio. The BJC will remain a mask-friendly environment. We will encourage those who feel more comfortable masking to do so. If you are feeling unwell, we ask that you either remain home or wear a mask to support the overall health of the community.
At this time, protocols are subject to change in compliance with revisions to local and national guidelines regarding Covid-19. We will be monitoring risk level and utilizing this information to make any changes to the policy if needed, going forward.

The BJC is no longer limiting capacity, except for what is actually available in the studio.
There are still limits in place during times when classes and workshops are occurring.
Walk-ins can usually be accommodated but are not guaranteed.

Baltimore Jewelry Center Studio Rental Rates
Regular Rate
Unlimited Monthly: $245/mo
Studio access during all open hours without requiring you to be enrolled in a class. To rent, you need to have satisfactorily completed a class at the Baltimore Jewelry Center or the MICA Jewelry Center; you will need to pass a competency test.
Unlimited Semi-Private Monthly: $310/mo*
Access to the studio during all open hours as well as your own locking bench. You are free to leave all of your tools and equipment in your locked bench.
*Semi-private renters are required to sign up for at least 6 months of rental
BJC Student Rate
Unlimited Monthly: $145/mo ($435 for an entire 12 week class)
The option for students who do not have a complete home studio and need to do their classwork in the studio. This will give you access to all of the studio hours during your entire class (4 week, 8 week, or 12 week classes).
Unlimited Semi-Private Monthly: $205/mo*
Access to the studio during all open hours as well as your own locking bench. You are free to leave all of your tools and equipment in your locked bench.
*Semi-private renters are required to sign up for at least 6 months of rental.
Weekly/Hourly Rental Options:
1 hour of access: $13
1 week of access: $70
12 hours of access: $120
Most students will need to rent their studio time from the Baltimore Jewelry Center. We provide a complete metals and jewelry studio with staff available during all open hours to offer help and support. You can choose to either rent unlimited monthly access to all studio hours or rent hourly access.
To rent, you need to be enrolled in a class or have satisfactorily completed an introductory class at the Baltimore Jewelry Center or the MICA Jewelry Center (or an equivalent class at another institution); in some cases, you may be asked to demonstrate competency with equipment before using the studio.
