Introduction to Enameling

In this class students learn the traditional techniques of cloisonne, champleve, basse-taille and plique-a-jour. Students are able to apply enamels to both jewelry and sculptural objects, using their own designs in both traditional and experimental ways.  Slide presentations and discussions will provide an overview of contemporary and historical enamels. The emphasis throughout this course is on creative thinking, design and mastery of technical skills. No experience necessary.
