Granulation is the ancient technique of fusing small spheres of silver or gold onto a piece of jewelry as a decorative element.  Beautiful surface patterns are created without the use of solder.  In this workshop, we will work with fine silver to learn the basics of granulation: making our own granules, preparing the metal, and fusing granules onto fine silver sheet.  We will explore the technique, moving beyond geometric patterns with small spheres to play with contemporary approaches, such as changing the size and shape of granules and light forming after fusing. Prerequisites: Introduction to Metals + Jewelry or equivalent experience
