Introduction to Stone Setting

Stone setting is an important skill for every jeweler to learn. Many different kinds of setting techniques have been developed to enhance the brilliance and wearability of the many different types and cuts of gemstones. The basics of several setting techniques, including prong, bezel, tube and handmade basket settings are taught in this class. Students receive hands-on instruction and learn to apply the proper techniques to strengthen their jewelry-making capabilities. Prerequisites: Introduction to Metals + Jewelry or equivalent experience.
