We have three scholarships available for a summer class!
The Baltimore Jewelry Center is happy to announce that we have one scholarship available for our Welcome to the Jewelry Center class (an 8-week introductory class), a $400 scholarship for a summer workshop, and one scholarship available for a 4-week class for our summer 2017 term (July-August). The recipient of the each class scholarship will be awarded tuition for a class and rental credit for the duration of the class. The recipient of the workshop scholarship will receive a $400 credit towards either our workshop with Bob Ebendorf or Demi Thomloudis.
The scholarship program is open to both new or current students at to the BJC. We are looking for someone with a passion for the creative process who wants to learn metalsmithing and art jewelry skills. These are need-based scholarships. The recipient should demonstrate a commitment to learning and an inner drive to create art and learn new skills. The recipient is expected to attend every class session and complete the required assignments; the recipient will receive support from the BJC staff to help him/her succeed in the class.
To apply, please submit:
- 1-2 page letter expressing your interest and need; include why you want to take a class at the Baltimore Jewelry Center and why you are interested in making jewelry as well as why you need financial assistance
- 1 letter of reference that speaks to your work ethic and commitment to learning
- resume (optional)
- 5-10 images of artwork, in any media (optional)
Deadline for the workshop scholarship is Wednesday, May 31 by midnight.
Deadline for the class scholarships is Friday, June 30 by midnight.
